Widening Access and Participation Coordinator (Evaluation and UNIQ)

University of Oxford - Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach

University Offices
Wellington Square

Applications are invited for the post of Coordinator within the Widening Access and Participation (WAP) Team. The postholder will contribute towards our current programme and design new outreach activities focused on BAME communities. The team delivers and supports a variety of projects with differing scope and scale, focusing on and working towards the University’s Access Targets (www.admin.ox.ac.uk/edc/otherdocuments/accessagreement) and other strategic priorities relating to access and admissions at the University of Oxford and within the wider higher education context.

The postholder will have a key lead role in the management of a portfolio of outreach activities focused on working with students, teachers, organisations and communities. The role is suitable for a professional with experience of the design and delivery of outreach projects. Experience of working with BAME communities or an understanding of current factors effecting progression to higher education for different groups is desirable. The successful candidate will work alongside colleagues within the WAP team and the wider University to deliver projects including academic workshops, residential events and conferences for parents, teachers and students.

Working with the Senior Head of Outreach and other UAO colleagues working on evaluation, the postholder will be responsible for encouraging the implementation of the University’s Evaluation Framework and further developing effective systems for evaluating outreach and student success activities to inform future direction in this area. The role requires the ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and partners including organisations involved in widening participation to higher education, academics, current students, colleges and departments.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Wednesday 29 May 2018.
