The Careers and Employability Service at Wrexham Glyndwr University is seeking a creative and experienced Careers and Employability Adviser to join our dynamic team of professionals. You will work collaboratively and across Wrexham Glyndwr University to deliver information, advice and guidance to prospective, current students and graduates to enable them to make informed career choices, raise their aspirations and reach their potential.
The HE Careers landscape is under a period of change and an understanding of this is critical to the role. You will also be a confident communicator who can gain credibility in front of varied audiences and be comfortable presenting to large groups
The Careers and Employability Adviser will be responsible for providing information, advice and guidance services in career planning, employability skills and work experience, placements and internships. The post will have operational responsibilities for leading and delivering a range of employability activities including one-to-one advice, careers development learning sessions, online resources and other employability related activities. Raising the profile of career planning and employability skills will be a key aspect of the role and the post holder will be expected to work in a team-based approach across the service to ensure an integrated approach to the development of Student and Campus Life and meeting the employability support needs of the student body, increasing levels of engagement and represent best practice in the sector. This post will report to the Careers and Employability Manager
A recognised careers qualification i.e. DipCG/QCG/QCF Level 6/Post Graduate CEIGHE in careers guidance is essential, as is a good understanding of the local and national learning and work opportunities available to graduates and postgraduates. You will have had previous experience of working in careers guidance preferably within further or Higher Education sector.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post..
