The post of Director of Development & External Relations is central to our objectives and the work was undertaken will help to maintain and expand the unique living experience that we offer our students and to upkeep the wonderful buildings we occupy.
If you are successful you will be responsible for working closely with the College Director, the Fundraising and Development Committee and Board of Trustees to develop and implement Fundraising, Alumni Relations, Communications and Marketing strategies in line with the College’s strategic priorities. You will provide senior leadership and direction to the College’s Fundraising, Alumni Relations, Marketing and Communications activities via the team reporting to you. You will also be an active member of the Executive and participate in the senior management of the College.
It will be important that you understand fundraising initiatives that successfully secure financial support from individuals (including high worth individuals), trusts and foundations, both in the UK and internationally. You will need to be astute enough to know when to build relationships and not afraid to push for that important final ‘ask’.
It is essential that you have previous experience of working at a similar level in higher education or charity environment. You will have significant fundraising experience and a proven track record of proposing and implementing successful strategies and of working with a senior team. You will also enjoy working with and motivating a small team with the willingness to get involved at all stages. There is a requirement to work some unsocial hours and the occasional overseas travel.
