Are you an academic with proven abilities to deliver teaching and research in Fashion and Textile Design Innovation? Are you passionate about providing an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University? Can you apply your expertise to support and complement our existing strengths in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Fashion Enterprise, Digital Fashion and Digital Textiles?
You will deliver world class teaching and research in the area of Fashion and Textile Design Innovation, supporting the continuing development of the School of Design as a centre with innovation at its core. This is a design/creative driven role, and you will have experience as a fashion and textile designer and research expertise in fashion and textile design innovation applied across a range of sectors. You will have knowledge of how to develop innovative practice and research utilising a range of digital media, software and techniques, and experience of how creative digital fashion and textile solutions can be applied to both commercial and non-commercial settings. In addition, you will have links with industry and be able to develop a strong network of engagement with the regional fashion and textiles sector.
You will have a PhD in Fashion and Textile Design Innovation (or related areas) and have a developing record of research, commensurate with the level of the post and a clear indication of the ability to achieve internationally recognised standards of excellence. You will be a committed teacher and an outstanding communicator able to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate taught study in the areas of fashion and textile design, creative design and digital design, as well as teaching and administrative activities in general.
