Location: This position is based at Singleton Campus

The post requires a specialist with experience in the design and delivery of management of leadership development programmes for leaders of enterprises. The post holder will develop teaching methods and workshop content appropriate to the transfer of knowledge for the leaders of SMEs and large firms. The post holders will be responsible for the promotion, design, delivery and educational evaluation and development of a range of activities to include action learning, taught modules, simulations, exercises and facilitated observational learning in leadership subject and topic areas.  The post also requires the provision of academic pastoral and coaching support and guidance for programme participants. The post holder will be expected to cooperate with programme partners in the North Wales.

Main Purpose of Post

  1. Design and deliver programmes of learning in Business and Leadership subject areas for the Leading Business Growth ‘Developing Leadership’ development programme, focussing on leadership and business growth in SMEs and large firms, using a range of learning methods including tutorials, workshops, action learning sets, plenary / lecture delivery and personal coaching.
  2. Management of programme content and ILM (and other providers) modules, including monitoring and review of outcomes to check for appropriate fit with the providers.
  3. Development of appropriate content and teaching methods for delivery of ILM (and other providers) modules.
  4. Assessment of course work or presentations submitted to the programme in pursuit of qualification
  5. Provide pastoral guidance and coaching support, tailored to individual participant needs and circumstances, to programme participants both on campus and remotely at delegate places of work.
  6. Provide coaching (one to one) to programme participants

Essential Criteria:


  • Demonstrable evidence of taking pride in delivering professional services and solutions
  • Ability to work together in an environment of equality, trust and respect to deliver services that strive to exceed the needs and expectations of customers
  • Demonstrable evidence of providing a caring approach to all of your customers ensuring a personalised and positive experience


  • First degree in business, leadership or a related subject or equivalent experience.


  • Extensive demonstrable track record in the provision of management and leadership educational development programmes for leaders in SMEs and large firms.
  • Experience in the use and development of a range of learning methods and teaching, and familiarity in adapting those to different learning styles.
  • Experience of developing and delivering action learning activity.
  • Experience of delivering coaching sessions to leaders of private and third sector enterprise leaders.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of business management and leadership
  • Knowledge of Developing Leaders issues and challenges in SMEs and large firms
  • Knowledge of content and learning materials relevant to Developing Leaders in SMEs and micro firms
  • Knowledge of contemporary leadership and management development (LMD) content
  • Knowledge and experience of teaching methods relevant to the delivery of LMD
  • Knowledge of individual and organisational development techniques
