We are recruiting for a Deputy Head of Development to join the Humanities Development Team. This role will deliver on strategic funding priorities for the Humanities Division building on a period of success and growth.

Oxford is the world’s leading university for Humanities research and teaching. The University’s scholarship in languages, literature, history, philosophy, religion & the arts – enriches our understanding of humankind, and informs how we engage with historic issues and contemporary concerns.

You will play a key operational management role. You will have oversight over the lower and mid-level fundraising pipeline and coordinate and implement stewardship strategies.

You will be responsible for developing a portfolio of existing and potential supporters. You will work collaboratively with senior academic colleagues and development professionals across the University to evaluate funding opportunities, and will be responsible for developing bespoke donor strategies to secure major philanthropic support.

Significant major gifts experience is essential, including proven success in securing six and/or seven figure gifts from a range of constituencies. Essential to the role is the ability to develop good working relationships with the academic community and key stakeholders, as well as the creativity, discretion and tenacity to manage multiple projects. You must have a keen interest in the Arts and Humanities.
