This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Do you have an interest in induction, training and project management? Are you an excellent communicator? Do you have experience of solving problems and supporting the implementation of new initiatives? Do you thrive on building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders?
The Strategic Projects team is a group of project management and business support professionals whose focus is to drive new and emerging ideas and initiatives forward. We act as catalysts and facilitators – creating the impetus to initiate change and improve processes for students and staff. We also act as a flexible team to resolve emerging challenges and priorities. This provides team members with an exciting opportunity to work directly with senior leaders on a day-to-day basis, across a range of different activities.
As Business Support and Training Supervisor, your responsibilities will include assisting with the planning and delivery of a range of people focussed projects. For example, recruitment, induction and training activities across the Student Curriculum and Operations Directorate (and potentially more broadly), as well as supporting the day-to-day management, embedding and delivery of the Training Academy. The post holder will also engage with wider Business Support and project activities which provides great variety to this role.
To provide a little context, the Training Academy is a focused recruitment, induction, and training programme for grade 4 colleagues joining student education teams at the University. The induction and training allows colleagues to enhance and learn skills relevant to roles within the Student Education and Experience Directorates, learning more about the various teams, processes, policies and systems. Once the programme is complete colleagues are deployed into a wide range of roles but remain part of the Training Academy community.
We are looking for candidates who are great communicators and can build effective relationships with stakeholders across a range of teams to enable them to deliver excellence. You will be highly organised with an ability to solve problems and work flexibly to balance priorities. You will also have a genuine interest in creating engaging and effective training and induction activities.
