Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 18 months in the first instance. 

Student Operations is part of the Academic Division and incorporates the Student Registry, the International Student Office and the Complaints and Appeals Team. The post-holder will work closely with colleagues across all teams and in particular within the Student Registry with regards to delivery of examinations. In all aspects of the post, the post-holder is required to liaise regularly with senior members of the University (including Chairs of Examiners, other Examiners and faculty and departmental administrators) and of the individual Colleges (including Senior Tutors, Tutors and Directors of Study, as well as Tutorial Offices). 

Working closely alongside the Deputy Head of Exams, the post-holder will support the delivery of exam services to all stakeholders including students, colleges and university departments. The role holder will be key in supporting with COVID recovery and will assist in delivering changes and improvements to exams and assessment as a result of COVID-19. The role holder will work across the operational delivery service and the provision for students with examination access arrangements and allowances.

To perform the role, you will be an experienced administrator and IT literate, meticulous, highly flexible, with the ability to manage large volume data sets quickly and accurately and to analyse data and produce reports. You will need to have excellent organisation skills, adapting to changing demands and priorities, and the ability to learn new skills quickly. You will engage with a diverse range of people through different media and therefore you must be able to work collaboratively and communicate clearly and effectively and be able to foster positive working relationships. Since you are working within and across teams, you must be able to work independently as well as being an effective team member.

We expect that you will be educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.

Given the timing of the Examination season and the peak periods for the allowances work, the post-holder must be flexible, with some out of hours, evening and weekend working required.

The Student Registry is transitioning to a hybrid model of work and the role requires some days per week in the office (exact days to be negotiated). During peak examination times, it is likely this will increase to full time in the office. Interviews will be w/c 21 February and are expected to be held in person.
