London Southbank University is looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual to provide expert advice and technical support, working alongside the technical team in the suite of facilities in Elephant Studios @LSBU. This role will involve supporting the newsroom operations and broadcast productions in related areas of the facility.
About you
You will have a grounded understanding and hands on knowledge of newsroom operations and live broadcast in TV studio/newsroom productions. You will possess skills in media production pertinent to the role and be proficient at using a range of professional equipment and software related to content creation, online media, streaming and live broadcast.
You will have experience supporting customers in a technical support or training capacity and a practical understanding of Health & Safety in relation to the designated technical area.
You will have good knowledge of media content production, video, and sound recording and editing.
Exciting work you will do
You will work in close collaboration with the academic teams delivering the BJTC accredited BA Journalism course and BA Media Production course and support a diverse and talented student cohort and staff with the preparation, delivery and production of live news days, newsroom, radio broadcasts, recordings, and streaming. You will deliver technical workshops to students on the range of technical equipment and processes related to studio operations and media content production. You may have the opportunity to work on enterprise and external projects with other teams that will require your expertise in media and broadcast production.

You should have practitioner experience in a relevant area, within an industry or educational setting. You should have experience of working collaboratively within and across teams, as well as independently. You will have excellent inter-personal, communication and organisation skills in order to foster effective working relationships with colleagues and students. You should be flexible and able to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in supporting staff, students, and external clients in the use of the designated areas.

This role is a 2-year fixed-term contract and is full-time 1 FTE. This role is campus based.
