We are seeking an experienced community engagement manager to lead on the development and delivery of our new community engagement strategy.
The role holder will build and strengthen relationships with community, voluntary and civic organisations in Cambridge. They will aim to diversify the communities we connect and engage with, ensuring our activities are inclusive and accessible.
They will provide opportunities for communities to contribute their expertise to the co-design and development of our public events. This will include developing and managing a community grant scheme that supports community organisations to engage with us.
Through consultation with colleagues across the University of Cambridge, they will develop, pilot and evaluate a community ThinkLab programme to provide research expertise in response to questions from community groups and civic organisations.
The role holder will contribute to the organisation of our public engagement events, including the Cambridge Festival, acting as a critical friend to ensure our activities are relevant to our community, particularly those that do not currently engage with the University.
The Community Engagement Manager will be based in the central Public Engagement team, reporting to the Head of Public Engagement. They will work closely and collaboratively with all other members of the Public Engagement Team.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated with excellent communication skills and a commitment to the principles and practice of equality, diversity and inclusion
