About Delta Hat

Delta Hat is a consultancy based near Nottingham providing industry-leading analysis to the pharmaceutical sector. We focus on the technical aspects of evidence-based medicine and health technology assessment, utilising methods such as cost-effectiveness modelling, propensity scoring, and meta-analysis. We have a strong team ethos, with an emphasis on knowledge sharing and collective learning. For the right candidate we offer a fascinating and well-paid career undertaking research on medicines and producing analyses that can directly influence clinical practice.

At Delta Hat, we provide a high level of senior input to the projects we undertake. This means you would have the opportunity to spend the majority of your time working directly on projects, as opposed to managing projects at an arm’s length.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day work will depend on your background and experience, though will most likely involve responsibility for projects consisting of data analysis (such as health-related quality of life data, time-to-event data, etc.) or evidence synthesis (such as meta-analysis, indirect treatment comparison, etc.). The main tools we use are R, as well as the Microsoft Office suite. You will be given responsibility from the outset and encouraged to develop expertise and perform research in line with your interests and skillset.

Benefits

We offer a compelling package for the right candidate. As well as a competitive salary, we offer generous amounts of annual leave and excellent equipment. As the company is small, you will have a meaningful say in how it is run, and the type of work we take on. Further to this, a share of company profits is shared across staff annually.

Role requirements

The ideal candidate will have a degree (or an equivalent postgraduate qualification) that has a heavy statistical component. Experience using statistical skills in a professional environment is preferred, though this is not required (should a candidate come, for example, straight from a PhD program). Given the variety of work we undertake, we are open to statisticians with different types of experience, though ideally any experience would be in a field related to life sciences and/or evidence-based medicine.

Although qualifications are less important than experience, we would expect you to have achieved a 2:1 or above at undergraduate level. Postgraduate qualifications (i.e., MSc or PhD) involving the analysis of data are valued, equally we place a high value on career experience in a professional environment. All candidates must have the right to work in the UK, and due to the sensitive nature of work involving medical data, are asked to declare any unspent convictions.
