We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to support the HR Manager to implement the HR operational functions and initiatives, with key responsibility for ensuring their effective and successful implementation. To manage and support the HR Administrators to provide accurate and efficient HR support and administration, in accordance with company policy, procedures, best practice and legal requirements. Providing customer focused, comprehensive, pragmatic and timely HR support. Provide employees and managers with guidance and support with regards to any informal and formal employee relations matters. The post holder will be able to advise on a range of issues and ensure action is taken in accordance with HR policies, statutory and legislative requirements.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to work as part of a small team, whilst independently and proactively completing tasks. Excellent communication and IT skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential requirements. The nature of this role requires a tactful and confidential approach.
The successful candidate would thrive in a fast paced agile environment, and have a genuine people focused approach in the delivery of their role.
Duties and Responsibilities
● To provide professional support and guidance to managers and employees on a range of HR issues.
● Develop effective relationships with all users so as to enhance their confidence in the HR service and develop their understanding of how its systems can work to support them.
● To have oversight of employee records system(s), ensuring data is accurate and kept in accordance with university processes.
● To provide accurate and up to date, HR data reports and analysis, to support the HR Manager to be able to make informed decisions.
● Support and manage the overall recruitment and selection process and to be the escalation point as required. The recruitment process is largely administered by the HR Administrators.
● Work with the finance team on the monthly processing of payroll.
● Work with the university’s benefits provider on the monthly administration of the schemes, including support in the annual renewal processes.
● To produce and review internal HR process guides, for all general HR day to day administration processes.
● Provide support to the HR Manager in the delivery of training and development initiatives.
● Coordinating and assisting with periodic processes, such as the review of faculty profiles, appraisal processes and documentation.
● To support, guide and develop the HR Administrators to deliver an accurate and timely HR administration function.
● To provide guidance and advice to staff on employment-related matters including contractual issues, absences (including sickness absence), flexible working and equal opportunities in accordance with university HR policies and procedures.
● Contribute to service improvement initiatives.
● To ensure confidentiality and integrity of all HR information in accordance with the Data Protection Act, and to ensure department compliance with other relevant legislation and Codes of Practice, including UKVI and Safeguarding.
