Would you like to support the delivery of Patient and Public Involvement, Engagement and Participation (PPIEP) activities at a leading research centre, including facilitation of patient involvement activities at all stages of the research process and management of the public engagement events programme? Are you experienced in developing and delivering effective PPIE activities within a research, health, voluntary sector or higher education environment, evaluating the impact of activities and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders? Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a desire to improve patient/public participation in research?
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT) in partnership with the University of Leeds (UoL) has been awarded a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Leeds Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) with funding of £19.8million for five years.
This post is funded by, and forms part of, our new National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Leeds Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). This exciting investment in translational medicine provides a unique opportunity to drive research which makes a difference to the health and wealth of the United Kingdom, but also to our local community.
Our new NIHR Leeds BRC builds on our strengths in musculoskeletal disease and engagement with patients and the public and now brings in research in surgical technologies, haematology (with the University of York), cardiometabolic disease, pathology, and antimicrobial resistance. With a vison to improve health and wellbeing by accelerating diagnosis, enabling early treatment that is personalised for each patient and, where possible, prevent disease and infection. It is driven by the need to address the grand challenges of an ageing, multi-morbid population.
