Introduction
Following a period of sustained growth, and as part of significant further investment, the University of York School for Business and Society (SBS) is seeking to further expand its academic research and teaching strengths in management and business, accounting and finance.
As part of this process, we are looking to appoint to a number of L/SL (teaching & scholarship) posts in the following areas:
Department
As a new department at York, SBS signals a distinctive approach towards conducting management and social policy research and teaching. We are uniquely placed to lead business and public policy action to tackle complex social and environmental grand challenges and have an ambitious vision to become the natural home within the UK for world-leading management scholars who work alongside experts in other academic disciplines as well as their own. This interdisciplinary approach, we believe, enriches the vibrancy and relevance of our research and our teaching. At York, we place heavy emphasis on providing a high-quality student experience and have pioneered innovations in on-line learning and teaching related scholarship.
We welcome applications from excellent candidates who embrace our vision and passion for advancing sustainable business, community and society. You will be joining a thriving community of academics who are leaders in their fields, and who are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship and outreach. We have established a strong track record of publishing in internationally excellent journals, receiving major indicators of academic esteem, and leading large UKRI funded projects that are delivering significant real-world impact.
Within SBS, new L/SL appointments will join one of our three subject groups:
Faculty teach across our successful programmes at post and undergraduate level (including our online MBA, launched in 2022, planned Executive MBA and shared suite of Finance programmes –
