A bit about you... 

Do you have a strong attention to details and accuracy for bid requirements, with the ability to work to tight deadlines?

You will be an efficient, agile and organised worker, adept at working with information from a variety of sources. An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to build great working relationships across a range of stakeholders.

You will need an enthusiasm to learn about our world class research and our main funder streams.
 
Working proactively to support the scientists across our four sites to manage tender submissions and ensure their accuracy.

Main Responsibilities 

You will work with some of the leading global and UK scientists, coordinating the overall tender process allowing scientists to focus on the scientific components of proposals and grants.

You will plan and coordinate responses to bids, including assessing call requirements, assembling corporate information, and ensuring all required components are completed and submitted on time.

Leading on digital processes within the team, ensuring all procedures are developed, or maintained, for the benefit of the team and lead scientists. 

Here are some essential skills we are looking for:

  • Ability to critique and proofread documents to produce high quality proposals and tenders
  • Skills in assessing bid competitiveness including addressing and complying with call-specific information
  • Ability to show initiative to solve problems and find solutions to streamline processes
  • Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office and SharePoint Systems with good working knowledge of databases
  • Ability to work with autonomy and manage/prioritise own time and work to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Educated to degree level in an appropriate subject OR equivalent demonstrable work experience 

We would be delighted if you also had the following skills/experience: 

  • Intermediate-Advanced numerical, analytic and quantitative skills
  • Ability in gathering information from internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the science that UKCEH is involved with
