Applications are invited for the position of Domestic Bursar’s Administrator (full-time, up to 15 months fixed-term) at The Queen’s College.
The Domestic Bursar’s Administrator provides support to the Domestic Bursar who has responsibility for a wide range of services and functions, and oversees a number of operational teams in the College. This role offers an opportunity for someone with a diverse range of skills to play a significant role in the College’s operations. The Administrator contributes to and assists with the co-ordination of the various functions of the Bursar’s office and must liaise with other offices of the College and the University in providing information to assist in their work. This includes the production of statistical information and reports for the Domestic Bursar. It also involves considerable interaction with students and the managers and teams that support student services.
The Administrator has two main responsibilities; the first is co-ordination of all the student accommodation contracts and associated activities. The second, is the administration of human resource information and correspondence, using associated HR technology. The College has recently installed a new system for recording all personnel information onto a digital system (HRIS) and the appointee will become an important user of this system. This is an especially interesting part of the job and offers an opportunity for someone with strong HR experience to develop further skills in this area.
The person appointed must have substantial experience working for a senior officer, and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent IT skills. The role requires precision, discretion and an understanding of data protection regulations. She/he will also have a commitment to the values of higher education and enjoy working in an informal close-knit academic community.
