The department of Research and Innovation Services (RIS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated professional to the position of Contracts (Legal) Officer to undertake a range of contractual work to support the activity of the Cardiff Joint Research Office (“JRO”). The JRO is a partnership between Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and Cardiff University to support the development, set up and approvals of health research in Cardiff. This post will handle a workload principally focussed on contracts to support clinical and health related research.
The post holder will work with academic and professional services colleagues across the University and with external parties to develop high quality contractual arrangements which protect the University’s interests as an academic and charitable organisation and support its excellent research.
The post holder will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, completing and advising on a range of contracts in the field of clinical, life sciences and healthcare research. Such contracts may include confidentiality agreements, contract amendments, material transfer agreements, funding agreements, clinical site agreements, sub-contracts and research collaboration agreements of varying complexity. The Post holder will be required to demonstrate a high degree of self-management, strong communication, IT and organisational skills.
RIS operates a hybrid working policy, with onsite working based at the Joint Research Office, located at Lakeside Building, University Hospital of Wales, Heath Park, Cardiff, CF14 4XW or Cardiff University Research and Innovation Services, located at 30-36 Newport Road Cardiff ,CF24 0DE.
This position is full time and fixed term for 12 months initially. The position is available immediately.
