The role
The Department of Art & Design has recently validated a new Fashion Awards – BA (Hons) Digital Fashion Design.
This post offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of new material, teaching delivery and promotion of the new and existing BA courses.
Combining innovative technology, creative thinking and hands-on experience, the course prepares for a successful career in the global fashion industry. Designed to build resilience, students are encouraged to be protagonists of their own future, to question and influence change, able to take creative risks. Students will reflect on their own career aspirations through a variety of design briefs that will contextualise their practice and build the appropriate skills required to succeed.
To be suitable for this role it is essential to have knowledge of the design process from concept ideation, 2D exploration creative 3D design exploration and realisation, through to product awareness.
It would be advantageous to have knowledge in digital software that supports the product development process &/or industry experience with applied knowledge within womenswear & menswear garment production.
The department
The course is taught by a dedicated and talented team of creative practitioners and supported by specialist technical staff.
Students studying in the Department of Art and Design receive a practice-led, research-enhanced, contemporary Art and Design School experience.
