The Head of Finance is responsible for the College’s financial reporting and management. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for continually ensuring that the College’s systems of financial control and monitoring conform to best practice and comply with the College’s Financial Regulations, policies and procedures and any statutory requirements, while ensuring the safeguarding and accurate recording of the College’s assets.
Delivering accurate treasury management, advising on cash flow reporting and forecasting.
You will directly manage the Finance Business Partners and the Management Accountants in producing accurate, timely monthly and year end accounts, as well as taking the lead in preparing for and overseeing the annual external audit, ensuring all returns are made in line with relevant legislation and statutory deadlines.
Responsible for the preparation of the College’s budget to tight deadlines, liaising with other areas as required, as well as leading on monthly meetings challenging budget holders, offering practical positive support in achieving the College’s desired outcomes.
You will also work closely with HR to ensure Payroll is administered efficiently and accurately and that staffing information and utilisation is reported accurately in the management and year end accounts.
Working closely with MIS to ensure funding and learner information is reconciled and accurately accounted for in line with the different funding body requirements.
Employing procurement practices that are flexible and innovative, to achieve value for money, and ensuring that procurement procedures are understood by all teams and managers.
Maintaining a continuous drive for improvement in processes and systems within Finance and with other areas and looking to effectively manage and constantly upskill Finance staff.
