The Faculty of Social and Life Sciences at Wrexham Glyndwr University is looking to recruit a highly organised and experienced administrator to undertake the role of Health Professions Contract Officer. The role will report to the Faculty Business Manager, and will provide key support in the coordination and administration of the utilisation of HEIW commissioned health education contracts at the University, and the daily management of the placement management software utilised by the Faculty’s Nursing and Allied Health provision. 

The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own time within a busy environment and carry out a variety of administrative and liaison activities, operating competently under their own initiative, as well as part of a wider team. They will possess excellent organisational, prioritisation, communication and liaison skills. 

Welsh language skills are desirable for this role.

Wrexham Glyndwr University (WGU) is delighted to be in a position to advertise for a Health Professions Contract Officer within the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences.

This post has arisen following a commissioning process conducted by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW). HEIW have taken the opportunity in partnership with stakeholders, to change the “shape” of education provision in Wales to best meet the needs of all Health Boards and Trusts and develop a cutting edge innovative contract to put Wales at the forefront of Health Professional education. 

As a result of this WGU have been awarded provision of certain AHPs that have not been delivered in North Wales before as well as an expanded delivery portfolio of Nursing (adult, Mental Health and Child fields).

To support the growth in this area as part of its Campus 2025 strategy, WGU have designed a new Health and Innovation Quarter, and will also be delivering from the Regional University Centre St Asaph to further ensure that Central and East BCUHB are accessible to students studying Nursing and AHP programmes.
