Digital & Technology Services provide IT services and facilities for the University of Dundee across all campuses. The directorate is split into four delivery departments: Security Infrastructure & Research Computing, Business Services, End User Services and Directors Office. The directorate provides services ranging from the provision of the university core network & datacentres through to client devices and provision of corporate software systems.

We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Work Space Product Group Manager within Digital & Technology Services, to provide accountability for standard Work Space product strategy, architecture and environments, along with associated service model and service level agreements relating to Desktop, Laptop, Mobile, Unified Communications, Identity & Directories and Teaching Spaces. This is a permanent appointment.

Reporting to the Director of Digital and Technology Services and Director of Finance, this role is responsible for managing end-to-end cost and performance of defined products including participating in annual budget process meeting financial targets and formulating strategy. Working effectively with various stakeholders to realise the One Dundee approach.

Digital & Technology Services are currently undertaking a significant multi-year investment in new & improved services across the university. As part of this we are expanding our team and are looking for outstanding candidates to join us. You will be joining a team which is at the centre of the next stage of the university’s growth.

Your priorities will include:

  • Ensuring that a catalogue of available services is created and maintained and that service level agreements are complete and cost effective
  • Develop strategies to ensure all the performance measures of all IT services meet the needs of the business and of any service requirements or service level agreements which may be in place
  • Specifies and designs large or complex systems
  • Ensuring that the system design balances functional,service quality and systems management requirements.
  • Provides input to the service continuity planning process and implements resulting plans.

Who we’re looking for:

  • A candidate who has the ability to manage workloads and work to tight deadlines
  • A candidate who is highly IT literate with strong, relevant applications experience
  • A candidate who has proven experience of managing a team covering a range of technical areas
  • A candidate who has Service delivery management experience of working in an ITIL-based framework
