About the role
The Population Health Sciences department are looking to appoint 2 Research Associates to further develop and help maintain web-based data analysis apps for evidence synthesis developed by the NIHR-funded Complex Reviews Support Unit (http://www.nihrcrsu.org/guidance/apps). This includes developing novel data visualisation tools to aid interpretation and communication of complex statistical models and their results to non-technical stakeholders. The post-holder will work collaboratively and independently as part of a research team (including statisticians, research software engineers and clinicians) to achieve defined milestones and produce high quality research as part of a wider programme.
About you
You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline (e.g. medical statistics, health economics, health services research or related quantitative/computing discipline) or the equivalent professional qualification and/or experience. You will have evidence of contributing to peer-reviewed journal papers (or equivalent) and expertise in analytical techniques.
To succeed in this role, you will require experience of one or more of the following: systematic review and evidence synthesis; software development; and/or computer code writing. Ideally, you will be skilled in data visualization and have knowledge on creating web-based apps using the Shiny package for R.
