The Post
Student Recruitment sits within the Directorate for Communications, Marketing and Recruitment and holds responsibility for the planning and implementation of effective recruitment strategies to grow student numbers, in line with the University’s Strategic Plan. The Student Recruitment Manager (RUK) will report directly to the Head of UK and European Recruitment, with whom they will work closely.
The primary objective of the post is to make a key contribution in growing the University’s income, by increasing fee-paying student enrolments through engaging with multiple recruitment channels, and capitalising on business and partnership development opportunities. You will be required to continually review and report on all market conditions, and work in partnership with the Head of UK and European Recruitment to set and achieve challenging targets for recruitment across all rest of UK markets (England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland), and implement and deliver change accordingly to maximise all opportunities.
In addition, the successful candidate will have regional responsibility for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, however may be asked to work on other regions or wider recruitment activity when cover is required, and designated market responsibilities may be subject to change over time in line with team/ University objectives.
Holding an understanding of the broader context of recruitment across the HE sector, this post-holder will be responsible for building a strong commercial network through collaborative working practices with internal colleagues and external stakeholders. The role-holder will support and enhance the quality of the student experience, providing information and support to enquirers, applicants and key University partners.
The role will involve significant periods of travel across the UK, therefore the successful candidate must be comfortable with travelling independently. Online activities can also take place and candidates must also be willing to work flexibly during evenings and weekends when necessary; including University Open and Offer Holder Days.
