The Impact & Engagement Officer is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Aberdeen’s existing Impact & Knowledge Exchange (IKE) team and work alongside supportive colleagues to maximise impact from world-leading research.
The Impact & Engagement Officer will be responsible for providing dedicated impact support to academic colleagues primarily based in the physical science disciplines, this support will include the development and documentation of impact in these disciplines.
You will work under the direction of the Research Impact Manager to extend the reach and significance of existing impact by proactively supporting academic colleagues to engage with organisations from multiple sectors including industry and policy, as well as identifying opportunities for knowledge exchange to help drive forward existing school engagement strategies.
The role requires an enthusiasm for working with people, confidence to interact with senior colleagues and external stakeholders and the ability to translate complex information into a format that is accessible and compelling. As a member of the Impact team, you will make an important contribution to decisions made to support and inform school engagement strategies, future research assessment exercises and will oversee a portfolio of impact projects, including REF impact case studies, working closely with staff to plan and support impact case study development. You will require excellent interpersonal skills and be pro-active in establishing effective relationships with academic colleagues from within the school and across the University. You will therefore require strong project management skills and use existing knowledge of research impact to contribute school-wide training as well to coordinate one-to-one support with individual or small groups of academics.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £37,099 - £44,263 per annum, with placement according to qualifications and experience.
