Do you want to have an impact on the research culture and research staff career development agendas at the University of Sheffield? Are you looking to apply your research skills and gain project delivery experience in the Higher Education sector?
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Career Development Project Officer (Research Staff) (part-time, fixed term) to join the Consultants and Advisers team within the Careers & Employability Service on a fixed term basis from January - June 2024. This role will take the lead on a Research England-funded project to map and scope opportunities for contract research staff to engage and gain experience of working with employers outside academia.
Ideally with a background in conducting research in a higher education setting, you will have experience of designing and conducting research projects as well as the ability to network, identify opportunities and develop creative solutions. Prior experience of research design, project management and data handling, in addition to a strong understanding of the UK research landscape and the challenges faced by research staff on fixed term contracts, will give you the headstart in completing this important project.
If you are passionate about career opportunities for research staff, then we would love to hear from you.
We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
