We are looking for an exceptional impact and engagement manager to make a leading contribution to research impact literacy and culture across our Faculty of Science and Engineering.

If you have the skills and experience to build strong relationships with academic and professional services colleagues and can help them to understand the ways in which research can enable the development of economic and societal impact - then we would love to have a conversation with you about what we can offer.

You will play a leading role in the development of the faculty's impact strategy working alongside research leaders to embed appropriate plans and activities into research groups and departments. You will lead on the development of a portfolio of impact case studies for REF 2029 looking to build on an outstanding set of results in REF 2021 in which our impact in disciplines such as Engineering, Earth Systems and Environment Science and Sport and Exercise Science was amongst the strongest in the UK.

You will join a high-performing research impact and engagement team in the University's Research and Innovation Directorate, and you'll have line management responsibility for the impact officer for Science and Engineering - working alongside colleagues to deliver on the aims of our new Research Strategy and our wider Road to 2030 vision which positions Research Excellence with Impact as one of two core goals.

You will have access to state-of-the-art resources at our new Science and Engineering building in the heart of Manchester's Oxford Road Corridor, you will get to work alongside friendly people from all parts of Manchester and beyond and, most importantly of all, you will have an opportunity to make a real difference to the University's strategic direction, the quality of our mission-focused research and the impact that it has on people's lives.
