The Department of Life and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology is seeking to appoint a research assistant to support his Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded project entitled “Enhancing the understanding, capabilities and skills of evidence-generators, policymakers and practitioners related to involving experts-by-experience in policy research and policy making.” This project, led by Dr Rounaq Nayak and working with Wales Centre for Public Policy will explore whether, how and in what ways, experts-by-experience can inform the policy research and policy making process, particularly within the What Works Network and amongst their partner policymakers.
You will have an undergraduate qualification in an appropriate field (such as but not limited to, Human Factors, Sociology, Public Health/Policy, Psychology, or other relevant fields with a focus on qualitative research methods) and be able to work independently. Duties include designing action research projects, interviewing participants and carrying out thematic analyses of data. Experiences in public policy research, lived experience research, co-production of research and/or policy, knowledge integration and mobilisation are greatly appreciated but not essential. Applicants with an interest in these disciplines are welcome.
This post is offered on a part time (0.8fte) fixed term basis for 12 months from 1st March 2024.
