We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the new Grant Processes and Operations team as a Senior Grants Processes Manager.

The role

This role within the newly created Grant Processes and Operations team supports the continuous improvement of the Academy’s processes that ensure grants are made and managed well.

The Senior Grant Processes Manager will have a comprehensive understanding of the Academy’s grant making and management systems and processes, and will identify, lead and manage projects to improve them. They will look after the policies and processes around the use of the Grant Management System (GMS), their consistent application, and training and sharing good practice across the community of Programme Managers, Programme Officers and others involved in grant making. They will also be fundamental in driving process and policy improvement around reviewing and panel decision making, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, diversity and inclusion, data processing and retention.  As the role evolves, this will involve consideration of the centralisation of key aspects of the grant management process such as the generation of grant agreements and changes to award management and potentially lead to responsibility for delivery.  This role will be pivotal in helping to shape the Academy's grant management policies and processes into the future.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with substantial experience of working in grant management processes, and project management experience, particularly on improving grant management processes and/or IT systems. You will have excellent knowledge of good practice in grant management, project management, and monitoring and evaluation of innovation programmes. You will have excellent analytical skills, particularly around process understanding and improvement, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be collegiate with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and flexible with good prioritisation skills. You will have very strong personal integrity and a commitment to upholding the highest professional standards.

Location

Our light, spacious head office is based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. We operate hybrid, flexible working practices with a baseline for office based working of a mandatory weekly team day plus further days each week as required for the role and the Academy.
