About us
The project’s focus will include evaluating whether the use of data mining and artificial intelligence techniques (AI) can provide tools for the early detection of luminal GI cancer, improving quality metrics in endoscopy, improvement in management of care home residents and/or improving hospital safety from airborne disease transmission through a combination of analysis of medical or care home records, endoscopic and other imaging data and clinical trials. The utility of these techniques for prediction and risk stratification will also be tested. Our aim through this work is to bring us closer to achieving more personalised care for our patients through creating novel individualised pathways of care ranging from prevention to screening (community/primary care level) to targeted intervention and improving patient safety (secondary care).

About the role

Our research group has a strong track record, with over 100 publications and a dozen PhDs in the last 5 years. The post is a great opportunity for an applicant interested in getting involved in the burgeoning AI field in medicine.
