The University of Sheffield delivers life-enhancing research, innovation and education - come and join one of the teams that makes that possible. In IT Services, we’re dedicated to providing excellent IT systems, services and infrastructure to meet the needs of our students and colleagues. Our world is dynamic and so are we. We work closely with everyone who uses IT at the University, to make sure it works for them, so they can focus on improving themselves and the world around us. So if you want to support the next generations of students, leaders and researchers, we want you on our team.
We have an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to join the IT Services Product Delivery Team, which is responsible for the delivery of our technology-enabled strategy and IT operational services. We have a product-led delivery model that supports the University’s mission. We are seeking a creative, focused, high-performing and engaging Head of Product to articulate the vision for our One University portfolio (including, but not limited to, Finance, HR and Digital Workplace technologies and platforms), and to lead a cross-cutting team to deliver prioritised objectives within that strategic pillar. You will be confident working with colleagues and senior stakeholders across the University to ensure that our key technologies and services continue to be fit for purpose and that we deliver value to our customers, stakeholders and the institution through the right technology choices to achieve expected outcomes.
You will have a wide range of experience of building and leading high-performing teams, translating strategic objectives into prioritised and measurable roadmaps, and executing these through visible and accessible delivery plans, orchestrating resources to meet needs and managing risk and dependency throughout. You will have excellent communication skills and a track record of strategic influencing across a wide range of customers and partners. A good understanding of technical architecture strategy and information security is also required as you will work closely with University's CISO and CTO teams, to ensure that our One University roadmap priorities are aligned with Information Security and Technology Strategy needs in a complex and changing environment.
You will work across the department to embed our values and ways of working. This is a rare opportunity to work in an exceptional university within a creative team who have the drive and determination to design and deliver sector-leading products and services to our wide customer base.
