We are seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated administrator for the position of Research Events and Communications Administrative Officer in the Research Operations Directorate at St. George’s. The postholder will provide a comprehensive, efficient, and effective support for research events and communications across the four Research Institutes: Population Health, Infection & Immunity, Cardiovascular and Genomic, and Neuroscience and Cell Biology. 

Working closely with the Institute Business and Research Managers and the Associate Director of Research Operations the post will be responsible for the smooth operations and communications of the research events calendar.  The position line manages two administrators who make up the team for research events and communications, as part of the wider Research Operation administration team.

The post holder will also be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the for St George’s Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) licensing. 

Key attributes of the successful applicant include:

  • Experience of administration in education, arranging events and communicating information
  • Experience of line management
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience of using social media for promotion of events
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
