The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) is seeking a Stores Manager to provide leadership and day-to-day management of a team of seven people. The team provides a general stores and goods-replenishment service to 600+ members of the LMB. You will manage an efficient Stores inventory service which involves the ordering, delivery and onward issue of consumables, chemicals, enzymes and stationery. You will manage your team effectively to ensure the receiving, receipting and onward delivery of materials and equipment across the LMB’s. You will support and motivate your team to ensure departmental objectives are constantly achieved and a high level of customer service is maintained.
You should be educated to degree level, or have significant relevant experience. A background in inventory management, ordering systems, record keeping and data analysis is essential, as is experience of managing staff, budgets and resources. You should also have experience in the Health & Safety requirements associated with Stores and portering, as well as of conducting risk assesments in these settings. You should possess excellent communication and time-management skills and will need to plan and prioritise work with limited supervision.
