Candidates should be prepared to work and deliver at all sites for Buxton and Leek College, according to business need.
About the role
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated teacher of English to engage and enthuse our students in their development of English skills and knowledge across the qualifications range of GCSE, Functional Skills and Entry Awards. Applicants will be asked to teach young people, adults and apprentices across our BLC sites. We would be interested to hear from candidates who are both recently qualified, as well as more experienced Practitioners, perhaps seeking a new challenge.
Whilst this will primarily be classroom based, we also require candidates to have the digital skills to deliver effective lessons using a range of online resources and platforms (for example Microsoft Teams or Blackboard Ultra). Our tutors will need to be adaptable, creative and resourceful. The ideal applicant will be confident in collaborating with colleagues and will be highly organised and flexible in their approach.
About You
This is a diverse and rewarding role. Experience of teaching in a Further Education (FE) environment is desirable, however, consideration will be given to enthusiastic new teachers who have good communication skills and a passion to deliver high quality English provision. For the right candidate, we will consider offering an apprenticeship in teaching and skills enabling them to gain their teaching qualification alongside their job role.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our small and friendly team on our journey to becoming an outstanding provider and to help shape our exciting future curriculum.
This position is full time 37 hours per week, however part-time hours would be considered, days and hours of work to be agreed on appointment. If you are shortlisted for the role, please indicate in your interview the days/hours you would be available to work.
