This post is fixed term for 12 months
The Department of Management is seeking to appoint an experienced, proactive, organised and efficient individual to work as part of our fast-paced professional services team. The post holder will provide high-level executive support to the Department Manager in an academic department to ensure the delivery of a wide range of duties. The role is based in the departmental Executive Office where you will work collaboratively to provide outstanding executive support to senior academic and professional leadership staff in a dynamic fast-paced work environment.
The role will include a high level of complex diary and mailbox management, travel arrangements, correspondence drafting, events, committee and meeting support and arrangements, note taking, preparation of papers and expense processing as well as being the first point of contact for Department Manager enquiries and visitors. This post necessitates a broad range of key administrative and executive assistant duties, working effectively across the Executive Office and requiring liaison with staff across LSE and external stakeholders.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join a busy and friendly small team.
You should demonstrate relevant work experience in higher education, excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving and excellent IT skills are essential. You should also have the proven ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a range of colleagues at all levels. You will have excellent time-management skills, with the ability to plan and organise a busy and demanding workload with conflicting deadlines. You will have the ability to work with a strong service delivery and proactive approach, remaining calm under pressure. The ability to problem-solve and take appropriate action is essential in addition to an ability to convey clear and detailed information to various stakeholders at all levels both within and outside LSE.
