Since 1990, Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) has built a reputation as a centre of rigorous thinking and high-impact transformational education, situated within one of the world's most prestigious research universities and at the heart of the Cambridge Cluster - the most successful technology entrepreneurship cluster in Europe.

At CJBS, we provide a specialist information and library service in the field of business and management studies to members of the business school and the wider University of Cambridge community. Our service boasts a world-class range of business databases covering company and financial data, industry and market reports, global news and much more.

As Head of Information and Library Services, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and excellence across our library operations. This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for:

  • Shape and implement long-term strategies, benchmark services globally, and lead projects that enhance resource accessibility and support teaching and research. Stay ahead of developments in librarianship and technology.
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team through recruitment, training, workload allocation, and performance management.
  • Oversee acquisition and evaluation of physical and electronic resources, negotiate supplier contracts, and maintain a strong digital presence in collaboration with IT and Communications.

  • Represent the library on University and sector committees, ensuring compliance with copyright and data protection legislation.

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader to oversee our business information and library services. You will bring a proven ability to manage resources, budgets, and high-performing teams, coupled with expertise in professional library systems and copyright legislation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the capacity to deliver innovative, web-based services that enhance user experience.

As a trusted partner across the institution, you will produce high-quality reports, communicate effectively, and drive strategic initiatives with resilience and collaboration. Your leadership style inspires and motivates others, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Ideally, you hold a postgraduate qualification in librarianship or information science (or equivalent experience), with experience in a global business school environment, and demonstrate proficiency with standard IT tools.

We anticipate that interviews will take place in the week commencing12 January 2026.
