As part of its investment in Clinical Psychology, the School of Psychology is seeking to appoint colleagues to provide excellent teaching and supervision in this field.
We are seeking qualified Psychologists with experience in working in mental health services (e.g. Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists etc.) who have an interest in teaching and training future generations of mental health professionals. Applications are welcome from clinicians working in the private sector as well as in the NHS. We particularly welcome applications from candidates whose clinical interests complement our existing areas of academic expertise and who can also demonstrate their suitability to teach clinical content to psychology students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Applications to work on a part-time basis are warmly welcomed, since we acknowledge and support that some candidates may wish to continue clinical work alongside this role.
This is a particularly exciting time for the School of Psychology as we increase our practice based education provision. We are delivering major new initiatives in Clinical Psychology. These new developments are planned to improve local healthcare provision and open up careers for students of psychology. Including the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Care and Neurowell. Furthermore, we are expanding and refreshing our clinical psychology provision at both BSc and MSc including an associate Psychologist apprenticeship scheme. The successful candidate would have a key role in these programmes and would join our expanding and enthusiastic clinical teaching team including our Tizard centre. The School of Psychology is already working in partnership with the University’s new Medical School and local NHS trusts in clinical, neuropsychological, and forensic contexts.
The successful candidate(s) will be involved in designing and delivering the new and enhanced provision in professional practice-based psychology (e.g. Clinical Psychology). The School of Psychology will provide the successful candidate with a competitive salary and a stimulating and supportive working environment.
