The Digital Services Team oversees the delivery of digital library services, including web interfaces, in the context of excellent customer service. This includes day-to-day services for Library staff and for Library users in their discovery and delivery of Library-funded electronic resources.
Technical maintenance, support and development of these services is the responsibility of the UCL Information Services Division, and the Digital Services Team acts as the main point of operational liaison with ISD, representing Library Services’ business needs and service priorities. This requires effective liaison with service teams across the Library.
This is a full time post, providing day-to-day support and assistance in these areas, including helping with web and desktop support, creating and maintaining documentation, providing training, and acting as a point of liaison with the UCL Information Services Division concerning change requests, problem reporting and service developments in digital library services.
This role may in part be suitable for remote working. The role holder will be expected to work a minimum of 60% of their time on campus. The pattern of on-campus and remote working will be agreed with the role holder.
The successful candidate will possess 5 GCSEs (A*-C) or equivalent, have confidence in using information technology across a range of software applications and devices, have experience of preparing and delivering training, and have a readiness to acquire new skills as required for the role.
Candidates should also have good knowledge of MS Office applications, experience of providing IT support to colleagues or customers, and familiarity with terminology and concepts relating to desktop, laptop and tablet device hardware. The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues at all levels within UCL is also required, as is being able to work individually or as part of a team, being able to prioritise own workload and being committed to excellent customer service.
