The Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) at LUMS in Lahore, Pakistan, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professors or Early Associate Professor Positions (Tenure Track).

About SAHSOL

SAHSOL offers a five-year BA.LLB degree and attracts the brightest students from across the country. We have a vibrant faculty with diverse research interests and teaching portfolios. Since the founding of the law faculty in 2005, we have offered students rigorous training in core legal skills and a cross-disciplinary, contextualized education in law and policy. We provide and foster an environment of research and pedagogical excellence. We support faculty in pursuing their interests through publication and advocacy. 

About the Role

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Achieve high standards of research,
• Serve on departmental and university committees, and
• Contribute to the development of current and future programmes of study.

The appointment will commence in Summer or Fall, 2023.

Who Should Apply?

Candidates should demonstrate clear interests in the research and teaching of law. We especially encourage candidates who can teach one or more of the following core offerings: Islamic Legal Theory; Family Law; and Criminal Law and Procedure. Research interests can diverge from these areas and any interdisciplinary training or expertise is highly valued.

Applicants should:

• Have a professional degree in Law and a terminal research degree or equivalent experience in practice or teaching
• Show strong evidence of relevant research, and
• Have an established track record of law teaching.
