The University of Cambridge is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in the world, with more than 12,500 employees. We are committed to providing a positive working, learning and social environment, with an inclusive culture that promotes equality of opportunity and values diversity, in which everyone can thrive and do their best work. We recognise, however, that we still have much to do to ensure equality of opportunity for all.
The Data Analyst and two Athena Swan and Race Equality Project Managers will join the University’s specialist ED&I team, which sits in the Human Resources Division. The team is responsible for designing and delivering an ambitious programme of institutional and cultural change at the University. The team is forward-looking and committed to creating effective equality solutions.
The Data Analyst will work with the Head of ED&I and the University’s leadership, alongside academic and other professional services colleagues, taking the lead in providing data analysis and using this to support the drafting of the Institutional renewal applications for the Athena SWAN and Race Equality awards.
We are looking for a clear thinking, detail oriented individual, who shares our values and sense of purpose and who will help us to shape the future of the University of Cambridge.
The successful candidate will have an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the Charter Mark requirements and be responsible for managing the self-assessment process required of the Charter Mark application process by administering, coding and analysing the culture surveys. In addition, work with colleagues, in our Business systems and Analysis Team, to obtain, analyse and present data from the University’s existing systems to inform the applications.
The role holder will help colleagues interpret data and survey responses, drawing together analysis and reports on what the data is showing in respect of the applications as well as in support of related ED&I projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will be able to support action planning using data analysis to translate this into ideas for equality initiatives and practice. This will include the ability to present a case that presents ED&I issues identified and possible targets and solutions to a diverse and independently minded community. An ability to understand sensitivities related to the ED&I agenda is important.
