Can you provide support to research projects? Do you have a strong interest in healthcare and a working knowledge of project and data management?
We are seeking to appoint a Data Manager to support an exciting service improvement project in neuro-oncology. Working closely with colleagues from the Patient-Centred Outcomes Research (PCOR) group and the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT), this project looks at improving early access to palliative care, activity enhancement or rehabilitation services, and carer support for families facing the diagnosis of a primary malignant brain tumour.
Despite known benefits for patients with primary malignant brain tumours and their carers, these supportive interventions are not widely implemented, including at LTHT. This lack of accessibility increases health inequalities. In this non-randomised, controlled implementation project, we will tailor these existing interventions to maximise accessibility and examine implementation at LTHT.
We are looking for a data manager to support this project, which uses both qualitative and quantitative data. You will guide data management for this project from set-up through to project closure and analysis. This will involve acquisition and management of data, creating and managing databases, and supporting the organisation and documentation of project meetings.
This is a new part-time post (4 days a week) funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research, available from 1 June 2025 for a total of 5 years. You will be based at St James’s University Hospital, Clinical Sciences Building, Leeds, and where possible, working from home will be supported.
