We have recently transformed our Information & Community Technology department to work in a product delivery model focusing on iterative development across product lines.

We’re looking for a full stack developer to join us in crafting a seamless digital experience for the community. We have a diverse portfolio covering the built environment, security services, student focused Campus services such as Catering, the Sport Centre and Student Accommodation as well as Commercial Operations.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be working within an agile product team on design, development and maintenance of new and existing software products. Our team culture is highly collaborative, and we value self-organisation and communication.

  • Development of high quality, user centric products aligned to our strategic goals
  • Creating customer value through delivery of features
  • Prototyping and experimentation to address business problems through iterative development
  • Work with test frameworks to ensure quality, secure code is deployed
  • Helping to transform monolithic platforms through development of micro-services
  • Mentoring junior colleagues and sharing knowledge, participating in community of practice

Essential requirements

Overall, you should have a strong grasp of the software development process and be able to adapt quickly to new technologies and tools to deliver high-quality software solutions in a timely manner.

  • Clear communicator – both written and verbal, keen to participate in stand ups and sprint reviews and working with customers
  • Problem solving – seeking to find the right solution to deliver value
  • Expertise in JavaScript, Python as well as experience with web frameworks like React or Angular
  • Familiarity with back-end technologies
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, version control systems like Git
  • Database management: SQL and NoSQL such as CosmosDB
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, Databricks
  • Desire to continually learn and improve
