Role Summary

Registry is at the heart of Academic activity at the University, supporting and facilitating students and staff to work effectively by sharing knowledge and providing valuable expertise. The administration of teaching, learning, and assessment events enables academic endeavour while striving to improve the student experience.

As part of a subdivision within Registry the Timetabling & Examinations team are responsible for the planning and collating of information and allocating students to both the University’s teaching timetable & formal examination timetabling systems.

The Timetabling & Examinations Team Leader is a senior member of the Timetabling & Examinations Team. In collaboration with three other Timetabling & Examinations Team Leaders, the successful candidate will ensure a consistent way of working is upheld across the team whilst managing multiple deadlines and implementing continuous change in line with the department’s strategic objectives and implementation of Institutional and subdivision owned projects

Main Duties

  • To be a senior member of the Timetabling and Examinations Section with key line-management and task-management responsibilities. Provide inspiring and motivating leadership to the Timetabling & Examinations team, using excellent interpersonal skills to deal with a range of challenging people management issues, in line with all relevant regulations, codes of practice and processes.
  • Provide bespoke support and leadership to the team by understanding individual staff members’ needs and evaluating performance through regular 1-2-1’s, keeping a record of discussions, in line with PDR’s and strategic directives

Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience

  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent qualifications) plus relevant practical experience - where no equivalent qualification is held significant practical relevant experience and expertise in a series of progressively more demanding roles will be required.
  • Evidence of literacy and numeracy, with the ability to write clearly, and to produce and analyse information and data.
  • Knowledge of the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010, and how to actively ensure in day to day activity in own area that those with protected characteristics are treated equally and fairly.
  • Experience of successfully delivering a high-quality service to tight deadlines, whilst dealing with multiple demands and changing priorities
