The Division of Psychology is part of the School of Applied Social Sciences, one of four specialist schools, also including Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences, Leicester School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Leicester School of Pharmacy.
Our teaching reflects the latest developments in the sector and many of our courses have professional accreditations. A range of work experience and volunteering opportunities enables students to develop the skills sought by graduate employers. Recent graduates have secured roles with leading employers such as AstraZeneca, Ministry of Defence and the NHS. DMU’s dedicated facilities are designed to replicate current practice and feature industry-standard equipment, enabling staff and students to undertake life changing projects to improve health and social care.
Role
We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join our successful team of academics and researchers in the Division of Psychology in the School of Applied Social Sciences. We are working in partnership with the NHS to deliver Low Intensity Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) training in the East Midlands region and are seeking an individual with experience in psychological wellbeing practice to join the team responsible for delivering this training. You will be required to contribute to the programme and to support students on their clinical placements. You will be expected to visit students on placement and will play an important role in assessing students' academic work and their practice.
This post is on a part time 0.6FTE basis. You will be required to work three days a week (on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays).The post is fixed term until March 2024 but is likely to be extended.
Ideal Candidate
You will have a background in psychology and/or a related field and will have demonstrable experience of working in an adult clinical setting to deliver low intensity psychological interventions for common mental health problems. You will be knowledgeable about professional body accreditation relevant to this training, will have excellent communication and team working skills, and will be committed to delivering a first-class experience for our students.
