The Scientific Computing Department (SCD) provides large-scale computing facilities, computing data services and infrastructure at both Daresbury Laboratory in Cheshire and Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire. Made up of numerical analysis, scientific computing and computation groups, the expertise and intelligence SCD provides UKRI, underpins almost every key calculation across the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and beyond.
We are currently recruiting a Resource Manager to the project operations team to identify, recruit, deploy, flex and develop resources to support successful delivery of projects across the department.
About the Role:
In this forward-thinking role, you’ll work in the project operations team across multiple scientific and technical delivery projects. You’ll provide resourcing strategies and planning leading their development and implementation to enable successful project delivery.
You’ll be gaining deep, hands-on expertise and be part of a team who are creating tangible, positive change for generations to come.
To be successful you will need:
Expertise in Resource Strategy and Planning to support planning at the departmental level.
Experience of producing timely and accurate project resourcing reports to support departmental activities
Experience of identification of resource levels, skills and competencies required including skills gaps for new and existing staff
Experience of working with project managers to ensure that the correct level of resources are specified to enable successful project delivery
Strong communication skills, including written, verbal and presentations
Excellent team working ability and collaboration skills
