We are looking for an experienced Data Protection Officer to join our new Risk, Resilience and Compliance team.
You will lead the development of our monitoring and assurance framework for data protection, including Data Protection Impact Assessments, handling requests from data subjects, and training. You will work closely with colleagues in our Digital, Data and Technology team to ensure that personal data protection is considered ‘by design and default’ in new data processing systems, and with our wider community to identify and address areas of data protection risk.
We welcome applicants with relevant professional qualifications in Data Protection and experience in leading the Data Protection function in a large, complex organisation. Communication, networking and influencing skills are essential.
About us
The new Department of Risk, Resilience and Compliance was launched in January 2023. It brings together a number of related assurance functions including operational resilience, risk management, compliance, legal services, FOI and internal audit. Our expanding team is innovative and dynamic, with a collaborative and holistic approach to enhancing resilience and mitigating risk. We work closely with colleagues across the organisation, providing guidance and support, and we report to management boards and governance committees, providing assurance and recommendations for action.
