Job Summary
The Electrochemical Science & Engineering group is seeking a motivated researcher to develop electrochemical and heat transfer models for battery safety, with the goal of advancing the understanding of initiation and propagation of thermal runaway and designing safer lithium ion batteries.
The increasing volume of electric vehicles, together with a push to high nickel battery chemistry for higher energy densities has made battery safety a pressing research need. Models are essential tools for researching battery safety.
Our research group is interdisciplinary and currently spreads across four different departments within Imperial College London. We work at the interface between science and engineering of electrochemical devices. With over 50 postdoctoral & postgraduate researchers, we are a vibrant team with industrial and academic contacts.
