The Department of Health Sciences is a large, multi-disciplinary and multi-professional department with over 370 academics, researchers and support staff engaged in delivering research & teaching. In 22/23 the department had annual research project income of £12.6 million raised almost entirely from external competitive grant funding from a wide range of funders.
This role is one of six Research Group Administrators in the Department of Health Sciences. These roles have been established across the Research Groups to support the work of the Research Group Lead, the Deputy Head of Faculty Operations (Health Sciences) and the Research Manager across many aspects of Department research related issues.
The main purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of the administrative process and the financial support service underpinning the activities of the Public Health and Society (PHS) Research Group. The role holder will be part of the Health Sciences Research Finance Office and as part of the role you will provide pre and post award support for the Department of Health Sciences research grant portfolio including financial grant management, costing research applications, contract management, HR, staff planning, timesheets, and financial reporting to funders.
