We are looking to appoint a data curation research assistant to join the Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) team based in the Psychiatry Department, University of Oxford, at the Warneford Hospital to assist with enhancing the UK’s cohort, imaging and record linkage informatics capability to provide an integrated environment for dementia related data analysis.
The post is for a fixed term (funded for 24 months) and is full-time.
Reporting to Dr Sarah Bauermeister, you will work collaboratively with other members of the group with regards to data curation pipeline development, data curation automation and metadata tool development.
You will have a first degree and relevant curation experience in a health-related subject and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in health related subject to assist in variable selection for data curation and ontology work. Along with this you should have the ability to manage own research and administrative activities, excellent communication skills, including the ability to write code (Stata), present data output at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings.
Experience of working in a team, contributing to research publications / presentations and a background in psychology / neuroscience would be desirable as would experience of working with large cohort data in a scientific research environment and writing scripts in Stata/Python/R code.
