Job Summary
Imperial College London Library is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated individual to supervise a team delivering expert enquiry and circulation services from our busy frontline desk (Information Hub) at the Central Library.
The hours of work will be 22 hours per week:
Tuesday 16.00 – 21.00
Thursday 16.00 – 21.00
Friday 16.00 – 21.00
Sunday 11.00 – 19.00
Duties and responsibilities
As one of two Library User Services Coordinators (Evenings and Weekends), the postholder will work with the User Services Managers to deliver a consistent frontline service throughout our opening hours, supporting library users during the evening and at weekends.
Key responsibilities include line management of a library assistant, training and supervision of staff, welcoming library users, answering enquiries, and supporting user registrations.
Essential requirements
You will have good experience of working in a frontline library service or customer service environment. You will also have experience of managing and supervising staff. You will possess good communication and IT skills, and a flexible, co-operative approach, coupled with a high level of personal responsibility.
