About Hello Future
Hello Future is part of the Uni Connect Programme, a national programme funded by the Office for Students. Uni Connect aims to support the government’s social mobility goals by increasing the number of young people who go into Higher Education, particularly those from underrepresented groups. Hello Future is the Cumbrian partnership, led by the University of Cumbria, together with a number of partners including universities, FE colleges, employers and skills providers. Phase 1 of the programme began in 2017 and we are now in Phase 3.
About the role
This unique role within Hello Future involves supporting young people and their influencers to raise attainment, make informed decisions about their next steps after secondary school or college and support progression to Higher Education.
You will be responsible for working with defined groups of learners (including those that are underrepresented in Higher Education) and creating / delivering interventions, together with partnership members and wider stakeholders. For example, working with learners to support their reading or study skills, organising trips and delivering workshops.
You will maintain excellent working relationships with the schools, colleges, employers and community groups within your area to ensure the programme runs effectively, meeting agreed targets as well as the expectations of those involved. You will line manage a small Graduate Intern team and may also be responsible for managing student ambassadors deployed to support activity. Working closely with the Hello Future Outreach and Evaluation Manager, you will support evaluation, monitoring and tracking of progress and contribute to the delivery of the overall strategic plan for Cumbria.
As we are partnership of many local organisations, we are also able to provide a range of experience working with partners within this role. This may include mentoring, shadowing or work experience with education / industry to support the professional development of the role holder.
This role is fixed term until 31st July 2025.
